Clemo Books

Clemo Books is an independent bookshop on Newquay’s high street. We’re curating books and creating community.

Our bookshop stocks the latest fiction, non-fiction, Cornish inspired titles and of course YA and children’s literature. Come and find your next beach read, discover local authors or get a recommendation from our booksellers. People can join in with our year-round events calendar featuring children’s storytelling sessions and author events with local and visiting writers. Book worms can also join our monthly book club, Clemo Club, to be a part of our reading community.

Clemo Books started out as a pop-up bookshop and we carried boxes of books to Newquay Farmer’s Market, local cafes, and lots of other venues across Cornwall. In November 2023 we got the keys to 33b Bank Street and our network of bookshop supporters successfully pledged to help us raise money in a Crowdfunder campaign – we’ll be forever grateful to them! Find us on the corner of Bank Street and Beachfield Avenue in the town centre, just a 2-minute walk from Towan Beach.
