For the ninth consecutive year, the World Surf League returned for the Boardmasters Open. The best of UK and international surfers went head-to-head in the country’s biggest surf competition. Pro Surfers made their welcomed return competing in the shortboard & longboard competitions. Plus, the next generation of groms battled it out in the returning Junior Open competition.
The BYD Pro saw local surfer Lukas Skinner take the win and in the women’s division, Tay Zebrowski.
Alice Lemoigne took the women’s win in The Wild West Jerky Longboard Pro and Edouard Delpero in first place for the men’s. Local surfer Luke Skinner took 3rd place in the finals with Antonio Dantas in 2nd place.
It was fantastic to see so many local gross in the water on the day with a high attendance of young aspiring surfers in the crowds especially for The Junior open, here’s the results:

The 5 day festival saw Headliners Chase & Status, Sam Fender and Stormy grace the main stage which will be the highlight for many of the festival goers, from colourful flares to fireworks the festival’s atmosphere was electric around the main stage. Artists such as The Streets also performed some classics as well as Kate Nash who joined the crowd for the majority of her set, she can be seen singing and dancing with fans in the highlights footage
Becky Hill performed on Saturday with Cat Burns and Mahalia on the Main stage on Sunday, this weekend saw an action packed line-up that was not to be missed. Lot’s of local artists joined this year too, with fan favourites Jam & Meme and special guest Newquay’s very own, British Middleweight Boxing Champion Brad Pauls.
