“Ugly Butterfly” lands in Newquay this July

This summer, Newquay welcomes a major new addition to its food scene! Acclaimed chef Adam Handling MBE is bringing his celebrated restaurant, Ugly Butterfly, to a new home at the stunning Headland Hotel, overlooking Fistral Beach. Opening 9th July 2025, the move marks an exciting new chapter for sustainable, luxury dining in Cornwall.

Expect creative, ingredient-led dishes that celebrate the South West’s larder, with highlights like Cornish tuna with preserved truffles, St Ives lobster wagyu, and tableside apple tarts. There’ll also be a relaxed terrace menu with lobster rolls, crab sandwiches, and nostalgic fish & chips with Champagne – plus a reimagined afternoon tea using the best local produce.

With ocean views, an outstanding wine list, and Adam’s signature flair, Ugly Butterfly 2.0 is set to be one of Cornwall’s most exciting new foodie destinations. Open 7 days a week in summer, 5 days the rest of the year.
