Mother’s Day 2025

This year Mother’s Day lands on Sunday 30th May and is the perfect opportunity to whisk her away for a memorable day or weekend in Newquay!

Nestled along Cornwall’s stunning north coast, Newquay is a picturesque seaside town known for its dramatic cliffs, golden beaches, and vibrant atmosphere. Whether your mum loves nature, adventure, or simply enjoying a relaxing day by the sea, Newquay offers something for everyone.

Where to stay
Newquay has a huge variety of accommodation on offer. From choosing a luxurious experience at Tolcarne Beach Village (featured in The Times’ Top 100 Hotels 2025) to finding the perfect base for a weekend in the great outdoors like Elemental Surf Lodge, plenty of options are available for you and Mum!

Enjoy a coastal walk (and check out the beach front cafes)
No matter where you choose to stay, you’ll be a short walk from the beautiful South West Coast Path. There is a wonderful path from the Gannel Estuary all the way round Newquay’s glorious coastline, and you can see all SEVEN beaches!
This route will take you past the breathtaking views from The Fern Pit Cafe overlooking the Gannel, past SeaSpray on South Fistral and the recently opened Boardmasters Beach Bar to the iconic Huers Hut. From here, at low tide, you could drop down past The Harbour Fish and Grill into Newquay’s working harbour and take in the beauty of the rugged North Coast of Cornwall from next to the Harbour Wall. If the tide if right you may now be able to walk along the whole of Newquay Bay!

Pamper yourselves!
Whether you’re more “Sunrise Swim“, Nordic spa, or “Sip and Dine“, Newquay has plenty of choices if you’d like to treat Mum to a relaxing day.

Try something new
What better way to get to know Mum than by learning a new skill! Why not go for an adventure and create memories you’ll remember forever! Surfing, skating, coasteering, paddleboarding, jet skiing, body boarding or pottery: Newquay is the perfect destination to try your hand at a new activity.

Check out Newquay’s Restaurants
No matter Mum’s preferences, the variety in Newquay is sure to surprise and WOW at every turn. Pachanga, Newquay’s authentic Mexican restaurant, is hosting an art and wine event on Mother’s Day. If Italian is more your thing, check out Little Ears or Rosa. For pintxos and cocktails, pop into Counterculture on Beach Parade!
